Kanli Divane Tour

Driving towards the east, immediately leaving Kizkalesi, you arrive in the neighbour village of Ayas, or known in old times as Elaiussa- Sebaste. Here you find the remains of an old city. Among them are the remains of aqueducts, temples, tombs and a theater. In recent years archeologists have been active with excavating.

Then we drive on to Kanli Divane or with its ancient name, Canytelis. A huge sight with Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine remains. The site is impressive. In the middle there is a huge crater in the ground, with on the edges the ruins of basilicas. Year around, but especially in spring with flowers blooming, it is very lovely to visit.
